The Orvis Experience

The orvis family history connection

The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa offers guests an unforgettable adventure to stay and be a part of the Orvis Fly Fishing and Wingshooting experience. With three beautiful and charming accomodations to immerse yourself in the quintessential New England lifestyle, be a part of the unique outdoors experience waiting for you.

The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa has deep ties to the Orvis family, who founded the Orvis Company and their mission to be a trusted source of discovery and adventure in the natural world. The Charles Orvis Inn, located just north of the main Equinox Resort hotel, was orginally purchased in 1883 by Charles F. Orvis as his private residence. Right here in Manchester, Vermont, he turned his fishing avocation and love of the nearby Battenkill River into a world renowned business offering superior fly-fishing equipment and excellent customer service and satisfaction.

Today, the Orvis Company is a leader in offering fly fishing and wing shooting instruction. Located minutes away from our resort, whether you are a beginner or experienced, get the most out of the Fly Fishing and Wingshooting School while staying in the heart of where it all started.

Book your Orvis Experience package for the opportunity to stay and plan your next great adventure.
