Boating and canoeingEnjoy Vermont's beautiful state parks at Emerald Lake and Lake Shaftsbury, where you can rent paddleboats or canoes. For a leisurely experience, try canoeing down The Battenkill River.

Equinox Preservation TrustA nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and wise use of the wild plants on Equinox Mountain. From Equinox Pond and its gentle trails to rugged heights of stunted fir and spruce, the mountain has a stunning variety of natural habitats and places to wander. The trails -- with varying terrain and difficulty -- are maintained by the EPT and offer great hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
FishingTest your skill at luring a trophy trout, in some of the finest streams in the Northeast. Private guided services and lessons can be arranged by the concierge. Fishing is available on Equinox Pond, The Battenkill River, and Emerald Lake. You can also take a fly fishing lesson from the Orvis Fly Fishing School.

HikingHiking is available on the trails of Mount Equinox, within walking distance of the resort. Also accessible are the Appalachian and Long trails, which are only four miles from the resort.
Horseback ridingEnjoy a one-hour, scenic trail ride through the Green Mountains. Individual horseback riding is available by appointment. This facility is a 25-minute drive from the resort.
Merck ForestHike, snowshoe, or backpack in the 2,900 acres of woodlands, meadows, ponds, and streams in Merck Forest.
Mountain bikingTake a mountain bike trek to the lands of the Equinox Preservation Trust, or tour the village on a bicycle from the spa.
ShootingEnjoy a complete shooting system applicable to upland hunting, waterfowling, and sporting clays.
